This maquiladora worker slum was built on a rainwater lagoon in
Reynosa Mexico. All of the outhouses empty into this stagnant water.
There are approximately 2500 maquiladoras (manufacturing plants)
along the US-Mexico border. Mostly conditions in the colonias are
horrendous, but invisible to the public at large.
